The Elms Caravan and Camping Park

The Perfect Base For Visiting London

Olympics 2012 – Intro

Introduction

Loughton underground station is just a short distance from The Elms and only seven stops, approx. 18 minutes to the Olympic Park and the main stadium. Within the park is the aquatic centre and the stop before is the velodrome. You can change at Stratford for the Docklands Light Railway which will take you to Greenwich for the Equestrian and Show Jumping and Excel for the Table Tennis.

The Lee Valley White Water centre is the first venue finished and is approx 6 km from The Elms. It will be open to the public in the spring of 2011, so if you are staying with us this year and you have a kayak, bring it along and be one of the first to experience the Olympic course.

As you can see, we are right on the doorstep of the games, and during this period, very much want to create our own sporting village atmosphere. We will be erecting a small marquee with large T.V. So that those not lucky enough to have tickets every day, will still be able to watch them and feel the occasion at The Elms.

Once a week, we hope to put on a free evening B.B.Q and will try and get the odd musician to entertain. On the day of the closing ceremony, you will, with weather permitting, probably see the fireworks from the beer garden in The Owl pub, but we also hope to have our own.

Due to the huge numbers of enquiries we have been receiving during the last two years, and also we are informed that many of the Hotels in London are already fully booked, we will be taking bookings in phases as we are at present trying to license adjoining areas for the games.
